Control Tower

AssistEdge Control Tower provides automated provisioning, governance, and actionable analytics. Control Tower is a web-based monitoring system to set-up and manage the robots running on remote machines.

 

Following are the key areas within the Control Tower:

Configuration Settings

Before starting with the below configuration, ensure that RPA components are started.

 <Super_Admin> role is required to perform certain configuration settings in AssistEdge Admin Module to start working with Control Tower, such as:

  1. Upload the required license to start with Control Tower. For more information about license management, see License Manager.
  2. Assign the user with Page Access in order to access Control Tower. This access ensures that the particular user has access to the required page only. For more information about how to assign access to use. For more information see Specify Role Access.
  3. Assign the role access and mapping. For more information about role access and mapping, see Specify Role Access.

 

Role Access Mapping

Before proceeding with the Control Tower, user should be assigned the required role access to work seamlessly.


User should be provided with required role access in the Admin Module. For more information, see Specify Role Access.


 

To do role access mapping:

  1. Click Configuration > Manage Role > Specify Role Access.
  2. In the Select Role list, select the role.
  3. From the Select Access, select the check box corresponding to access which you want to assign to particular role.
  4. Click Save to save the changes made to role and access else, click   (Close) icon to discard the changes.

Control Tower Admin

Super User

  • Assign robots to other users or self.

  • Assign Superbots to self or other Super Users

  • View the status of all robots across machines segregated by the status of whether a robot is available, in setup, running, stopped or is in error

  • Take action on the robots irrespective of whom the robot is assigned to


  • Setup the robots assigned to the user

Robot Creator

  • Create, Edit and Delete the robots

  • Remove the unused Robot Agents from Control tower UI

  • Change the access mode for a Robot Agent

  • View all the robots across machines segregated by whether a robot is available or assigned to a user

Manager

  • Assign robots to other users or self

  • View the robots that are mapped to the User’s profiles across machines segregated by whether a robot is available, in setup, running, stopped or is in error.

  • Take action on the robots irrespective of whom the robot is assigned to but subject to user’s viewing rights

  • Setup the robots assigned to user

Control Tower User

Robot Owner

  • Assign robots to self

  • View all the assigned robots across machines segregated by whether a robot is available, in setup, running, stopped or is in error.

  • Take action on the assigned robots.

  • Setup the assigned robots.

  • Reset the assigned robot.

Transaction Analyst

Access the Process view in Control Tower as per the access assigned and can take actions accordingly.  Currently, user with Robot Creator, Super User, Robot Owner, or Manager access can access the transaction analyst.

Super User can access or perform following actions:

  • View data and take actions as per the super user access

  • View all the processes irrespective of profiles or robots assigned

  • Take available action on processes

Manager can access or perform following actions:

  • View data and take actions as per the Manager access

  • View the processes as per the profiles assigned

  • Take available action on processes

Robot Owner can access or perform following actions:

  • View data and take actions as per the Robot Owner access

  • View the processes as per the profiles assigned

  • Take available action on processes

Control Tower Tabs

View Only

Allows Robot Creator or Super User with read only or view only access to view the Control Tower.  User with Robot Creator, Super User, or Manager access can view the Control Tower.

Credential Management

Allows you to access the credentials manager in the Control Tower.  User with Robot Creator, Super User, Manager or Robot Owner access can view or access the Credential Management.

Trigger Management

Allows you to access the Trigger Manager section in the Control Tower. User with Robot Creator, Super User, Manager or Robot Owner access can view or access the Trigger Management.

Super User can access and perform following actions:

  • View data and take actions as per the Super User access

  • View all the triggers irrespective of profiles

  • Take available action on triggers

Robot Owner can access and perform following actions:

  • View the triggers as per the profiles assigned

  • Take available action on triggers

Manager can access and perform following actions:

  • View data and take actions as per the manager access

  • View the triggers as per the profiles assigned

  • Take available action on triggers

APM Dashboard

  • Allows you to access APM Dashboard

  • User with Robot Creator, Super User, Manager access can view the APM Dashboard.  

Automation Configuration Statistics By selecting Automation Configuration Statistics check box, user is assigned to access Automation Configuration Statistics page in the Control Tower
Runtime Configuration By selecting Runtime Configuration check box, user is assigned to access Runtime Configuration page in the Control Tower
Scale Plan

By selecting Scale Plan check box, user is allowed access to the BOTPLAN page under AUTOSCALING in Control Tower in order to:

  • Calculate robots used  in a process
  • Add process to available plan

By default, user with Super_Admin role can view the Scale Plan and the Super Admins can further grant access to the subordinate roles as required.

 

 

Default Role Access Mappings 

Super_Admin role is mapped to the Robot Creator, Super User, Credential Management, Transactions Analyst , Trigger Management, and APM Dashboard accesses.

Admin role is mapped to the Super User, Transaction Analyst, Credential Management, Trigger Management and APM.


RPAITAdmin role is mapped to the Robot Creator access.

 

RPAProcOwner is mapped to the Manager, Credential Management, Transactions Analyst, and Trigger Management accesses.
