Don Free leads Gartner’s research on all aspects of core banking, including thought leadership on market trends, systems and architecture. His research exposes progressive trends for developing successful core banking strategy, while providing practical guidance to navigate core banking migration complexity. With Gartner for 17 years and possessing more than 30 years of core banking experience, Mr. Free commonly advises CIOs, business leaders and architects globally. He has spoken at many high-profile events in more than 50 countries and has led in-house, board-level workshops.
Sridhar has over 25 years of experience in the banking and technology industry and is currently the Chief Information Officer at Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (ABK). Post the successful core banking transformation program at ABK, Sridhar is leading the efforts in digitization as part of the bank’s senior management team.
Prior to joining ABK, Sridhar held various senior technology positions in Mashreq, UAE. He has led multiple core banking technology transformations across various organizations in his career. Sridhar is a PGDM from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Andhra University.
Miguel Rio Tinto is Emirates NBD’s Group Chief Information Officer and currently leading its AED 1 billion end-to-end IT transformation.
He brings a track record of international success to the role; leveraging his combination of technology leadership experience in leading banking institutions alongside his advisory background as a Partner at McKinsey and Company.
Before joining Emirates NBD, Miguel led Digital McKinsey’s Iberian office. He advised Europe and Latin America’s largest financial institutions on digital transformation as well as IT strategy, operating models, architecture, cost efficiency, risk and cyber-security.
Earlier, Miguel was the COO and CIO for Novo Banco SA; one of Iberia’s biggest banks and prior to that, CIO for Banco Espirito Santo in Portugal.
Miguel has served on multiple executive boards including for Portugal’s Tranquilidade Insurance Group. He commenced his career at McKinsey and Company’s Lisbon office, and has an MBA from INSEAD, Paris.
Sankarson Banerjee is the Chief Information Officer at RBL Bank. He is an accomplished technology professional with over 23 years of multi-faceted experiences in the industry.
In his current role at RBL Bank, Sankarson is responsible for Information Technology, optimizing legacy IT Systems, identifying and adopting innovation and enabling digital transformation of the Bank. Prior to joining RBL Bank, Sankarson was Chief Technology Officer at the National Stock Exchange. He has worked in both sides of the divide i.e. IT companies like IBM, MPhasis & Accenture – wherein he lead their Technology, Cloud & Mobility practices for India and user organizations like Future Group & IIFL. He has also been part of a venture capital firm helping review technology investments.
Sankarson is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur & IIM Calcutta.

John Olesky is Managing Director, Global Co-head of IHS Markit’s Loan Platforms business. He is responsible for the design and strategic direction of multiple industry-leading platforms that facilitate book building, trading, settlement, asset servicing, integration services and reference data. John is also responsible for IHS Markit’s distributed ledger platform which is the foundation of an upcoming next-gen clearance and settlement service.
Mr. Olesky joined Markit in 2010 as part of its acquisition of ClearPar from FIS and is based in New York. He represents IHS Markit in market-wide strategic initiatives and works closely with trading associations, partners and market-leaders across the globe to define solutions that will help drive innovation and greater efficiency.
Mr. Olesky holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida. Most recently, he completed the LEAD program in Corporate Innovation at Stanford University.
Klaas Kruger is an executive at Standard bank with 25 years of experience in IT. Beginning his career as a software engineer, he progressed through multiple technical and managerial roles across various financial services organizations. Klaas steered various teams delivering large core banking transformation programs with the most recent being the Standard Bank Africa core banking programme, across 14 countries in Africa. He has also been instrumental in digitizing the bank in Africa, landing a number of digital capabilities including Moby banker in multiple countries. Having embraced agile methodologies, he has great understanding and appreciation of what it takes to deliver IT across various territories in his role as CIO in Africa and the International portfolio. He enjoys unlocking potential and growing people to drive delivery. Maintaining customer focus and strong business partnerships across multiple stakeholders is something Klaas is passionate about. Klaas lives in South Africa and travels regularly to many international destinations.
Jost serves Application Development & Delivery Professionals, particularly in financial services. As an analyst, he is an expert on a number of architecture and technology topics in global banking, such as off-the-shelf digital banking platforms (including core banking), mobile banking, online banking and omnichannel banking, banking architecture, digital transformation, architecture, and strategy. He also led research into the business and technology aspects of banking in the future (banking in 2023 and 2030).
During his more than 10 years with Forrester, Jost has provided strategic analysis and pragmatic advice to executives, operational-level managers, and architects on topics such as strategy plans, architecture development, governance, and large-scale software development, integration, and deployment. As a conference speaker and quoted expert, Jost has addressed numerous topics, such as industry trends, implementation, and the operation and migration of applications and systems, as well as the economic and strategic issues around these technologies.
Previous Work Experience
Jost came to Forrester through its acquisition of Giga Information Group. Prior to Giga, Jost was director of architecture at DG Bank, where he was responsible for the medium- and long-term development of architecture and related topics and for the definition of the technology part of its multichannel strategy. He was the chairman of the bank’s architecture decision body. Prior to joining DG, Jost worked as a technology consultant for eight years. He was responsible for a consulting practice that ran projects in the architecture and information technology space. Earlier, Jost worked on database systems, operating systems, software development, Unix standardization, and IT security, including contributions to the German and European IT security criteria.
Abhijit Singh is responsible for Strategic initiatives, at ICICI Bank. In his present role, he has successfully implemented Blockchain for Trade and Remittances and ensured that ICICI Bank is the first Bank in India to launch Remittances and Trade on Blockchain. He is a founding member of India Trade Connect Blockchain Consortium. He is anchoring the Blockchain consortium and other advisory forums.
Previously, he was heading Technology Group at ICICI Bank and was responsible for the large-scale Digital/IT transformation at the bank.
Prior to ICICI Bank, he has done CIO and Technology leadership roles at ABN AMRO Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and ANZ at local, regional and global levels.
Abhijit is an MBA in Finance from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, India and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from University of Mumbai, India
Porter Erisman was a Vice President at Alibaba Group from 2000-2008 where he saw the company grow from a small apartment into China’s largest e-commerce marketplace. After leaving Alibaba, Porter wrote Alibaba’s World, a bestselling memoir of his experience at the company that was selected as one of the “Best Business Books of 2015” by the Wall Street Journal. He is also the producer and director of the award-winning independent documentary film, Crocodile in the Yangtze: The Alibaba Story, which traveled to 20 film festivals before being broadcast on Bloomberg Television in 2014. Porter is a graduate of both Stanford University and the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Bart was appointed Head of Global Transactional Banking (GTB) Santander UK in May 2016. He improved the cash management offering for IB banking clients and created a Working Capital Advisory team which is recognised as second to none in the market. Since he joined the business realised a CAGR of high teens.
As the Head of GTB in Continental Europe appointed in 2013 he created a competitive cash management offering in addition to the existing trade product suit. The business continued to grow double digits.
In 2009, Bart joined Santander to build a European trade organisation with teams in UK, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Poland and Portugal. The success was demonstrated with double digit growth rates for 3 years in a row.
Prior to Santander, Bart was with ABN AMRO Bank, he headed the Structured Trade and Commodity Finance department globally first out of Amsterdam and later out of London.
Bart graduated with a Master of Science from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, where he completed two master’s thesis one for Environmental Technology and one for Business Administration. He successfully completed the IESE Santander Corporate Leadership Programme 9th ed. in 2015/16
In 2019 Bart joint the Board of BAFT as he became one of the Co-chairs of the European Council. He has represented Santander in the European Council since 2016.
Siew Choo joined DBS Bank in November, 2014 as a Managing Director of Technology.
In the first 2 years of her tenure in DBS, she was responsible for driving strategy for enterprise-wide technology solutions for Core Banking, finance, risk, compliance and audit. During this time, she is drove major transformation in the technology talent pool and architecture of DBS including the insourcing of technology resources, rearchitecture of major platforms towards cloud native architecture patterns, adoption of platform-as-aservice (including Pivotal Cloud Foundry) and Agile as a business practice for large scale programmes. In 2017, she led the ANZ integration across 5 markets into DBS and the creation of the Enterprise Data Platform to transform DBS to a data-driven company. In late 2017, she has been appointed as the Head of Consumer Banking and Big Data Analytics Technology. In this role, she is responsible for driving the Digital Bank transformation, wealth management priorities including roboadvisory, and the build out of the ecosystem via Open API across multiple countries. In addition, she is also responsible for driving the reorganization of technology and businesses groups for the consumer banking, enterprise core banking and enterprise data into that of a platform model, adopting truly Agile ways of working and architecture.
Prior to joining DBS Bank, Siew Choo played various senior technology leadership roles across Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore at JPMorgan over 19 years. During this period, she led many multi-year technology build-out to support JPM’s aggressive business expansion for Equities and Transaction Banking across Asia.
Hal B. Gregersen is the executive director of the MIT Leadership Center and a senior lecturer in leadership and innovation at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He co-authored “The Innovator’s DNA: Mastering the Five Skills of Disruptive Innovators” with Harvard professor Clayton Christensen and Brigham Young professor Jeff Dyer. The book evolved from the co-authors’ 2009 article of the same name that was runner-up for the prestigious McKinsey Award for best Harvard Business Review article. In the book the authors identify five abilities demonstrated by the best innovators and explain how you can master these skills as well. This book, written by the foremost authorities on innovation, finally reveals the code to becoming a successful innovator. Hal will soon publish “Questions Are the Answer: A Breakthrough Approach to Your Most Vexing Problems at Work and in Life (Harper Collins, November 2018)” which builds on his catalytic questioning methodology.
To grasp how leaders find and ask the right questions – ones that disrupt how we view and interact with the world – Gregersen is now studying over 100 renowned innovative leaders, including Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and P&G’s A.G. Lafley. This question-centric research project, conducted in collaboration with Clayton Christensen, is already surfacing insights into how leaders can build better questions to unlock game-changing solutions. Gregersen is also founder of the 4-24 Project, an initiative dedicated to rekindling the provocative power of asking the right questions in adults so they can pass this crucial creativity skill onto the next generation in order to improve organizations, communities and global society.
Rajashekara Maiya heads the Business Consulting Group at Infosys Finacle. He represents the company while interacting with external stakeholders such as analysts and the media. He has played several roles across diverse areas, including product management, solution architecture, implementation, and pre-sales over the last 19 years at Infosys.
Maiya specializes in core banking, risk management, regulations, and compliance. He has been quoted on these and other topics in reputed publications such as Forbes, The Banker, Banking Technology, The Economist, Business Line, BBC Radio, and the Economic Times. He is on the expert panel of the McKinsey Quarterly; is a member of the XBRL Abstract Modelling Task Force (AMTF) Group; and is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Maiya holds several patents and has pending patents in the areas of partner portals, delivery channels, offline banking, and customer experience.
Sanat Rao is the Director at EdgeVerve. Sanat has over 26 years of experience in international banking and technology led business transformations. His experience spans strategic partnerships with clients through their digital journey across multiple markets globally. In his present role, Sanat is responsible for growing the Finacle business and driving industry leadership with innovations in the banking space. Having started his career at ANZ Bank, a global financial institution headquartered in Australia, Sanat has had stints with marquee global financial technology organizations. In his previous role as Vice President and Senior Partner at IBM, he was responsible for a portfolio of offerings including cloud consulting services, CIO Advisory, core banking, digital foundation and payments in the BFSI space. He was also deeply engaged with FinTech companies in identifying and nurturing new partnerships that could prove disruptive in the market. Prior to that, for nearly 14 years till 2013, Sanat played a variety of global roles as part of the Infosys Finacle organization, helping build and scale the brand, with the last position as the Global Head of Client Services and Alliances. In this role, he was responsible driving global sales, client engagement, and strategic alliances for Finacle globally. Sanat’s expertise of the banking and financial technology industry is exemplary, having previously been responsible for Infosys’ global banking product strategy for the entire Finacle suite. Sanat is based in London but spends much of his time travelling globally to engage with clients.
Sajit has over 22 years of experience and has played various Delivery, consulting, and sales & engagement roles in US, India, and the UK. He has been with Infosys for 18 years and primarily worked with Oracle and SAP Practices where he helped clients drive value from large package enabled transformational programs in the Finance, HR and Supply Chain functions. Prior to joining Infosys, Sajit worked with ICICI Securities , a joint venture between ICICI Ltd and JP Morgan, in their Financial Control functions.
Colin White is a managing director and technology fellow within the Engineering division at Goldman Sachs. Colin is the Head of EMEA Digital Finance Technology, an engineering group responsible for delivering customer centric digital banking solutions as Goldman Sachs extends out into the retail sector in Europe, starting with Marcus by Goldman Sachs in the UK. Colin has held numerous senior positions, of an engineering and architectural nature, at Goldman Sachs and in the financial services sector.
Mr. Tsevegjav Gumenjav was appointed as the CEO of XacBank in May 2019. He joined XacBank and TenGer Financial Group in 2011 and has held various management positions within the Group as Chief Financial Officer of TenGer Financial Group, and later of XacBank from 2011 to 2013, Chief Retail Banking Officer and subsequently President, Retail Bank from 2015, Chairman of Board of Directors of Tenger Insurance LLC from 2014 to 2017 and CEO of XacLeasing since 2013 until his current appointment. TJ holds a MBA from Regis University, USA and a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business and Information Systems Management from the University of Colorado, USA. Prior to joining the TFG Group, TJ lived and worked in the United States in 2004-2011 working as treasury manager and financial analyst for a number of large US companies.
With almost 30 years of sales and operations experience, Venkat is responsible for Finacle sales globally.
Venkat’s inclusive leadership style and passion for Finacle has enabled him to deliver consistent results for Infosys Finacle in various roles for over 15 years. Over the years, he has diversified Finacle’s portfolio and strategized to win marquee banking logos, thus ensuring continued market leadership for Finacle across regions. Prior to joining Infosys, Venkat worked with Ramco Systems Ltd in the ERP market and Wipro Infotech.
Venkat has an engineering degree in electronics and communication and an MBA with a specialization in marketing and entrepreneurship.
Sachin is global head of Application Development for Digital Finance Technology. He oversees the development and execution of the firm’s loan and deposits platforms while helping to expand the Consumer & Commercial Banking Division’s business strategy. Sachin is a member of the Digital Finance Operating Council. He joined Goldman Sachs as a managing director in 2017.
Prior to joining the firm, Sachin was co-founder, president and chief technology officer of AHAlife, an online marketplace for luxury products that began publicly trading in 2015. AHAlife’s technology was licensed to Conde Nast and NBC Universal for use on their respective ecommerce platforms. Earlier in his career, Sachin held a variety of roles, including vice president of Platform Products at 33Across, vice president of Advertising Services at LucidMedia and director of engineering at Entrieva.
Sachin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay.
Abhinav is head of consumer loans for Marcus by Goldman Sachs. He joined the firm as a managing director in 2015.
Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Discover Financial Services for seven years, most recently as chief model risk officer and head of operational risk. At Discover, Abhinav led teams in decision sciences, credit risk management, analytics and capital planning for the credit card and consumer banking divisions. Prior to joining Discover, he led Data Science teams in the asset management and insurance industries.
Abhinav earned a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, an MS in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Faisal Ameen is a managing director and head of Global Transaction Services (GTS), Asia Pacific at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Based in Singapore, Faisal is responsible for developing and executing the integrated strategy for the full end-to-end regional treasury business in Asia Pacific, including: treasury and trade sales; treasury product solutions; trade and supply chain finance; service and fulfillment; technology and operations; and product innovation, development and management.
Prior to this role, Faisal was responsible for product development and management across GTS in the Asia Pacific region.
Before joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2010, Faisal was head of Vietnam global transaction services and the global subsidiaries group at Citibank. In this role he was responsible for client coverage as well as sales, product management, implementation, and electronic banking across cash management, trade finance and securities services. He was also a member of the Vietnam management committee and served as branch manager of Citibank’s Ho Chi Minh City branch.
Faisal holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing and International Business from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program Management of Harvard University.
Peter Marini leads the NetGuardians’ team within the Asia Pacific region. Peter has more than 20 years’ experience immersed in technology and sales, with companies such as McAfee, Frontrange, Lumension Security, and H.P. Throughout his career, Peter has focused on helping organizations with their business challenges, from securing their environment to improving their relationships with customers.
Robert has over 25 years of experience in Financial Services and Technology with specialization in Cybersecurity. He has extensive knowledge of the intersection of Digital Channels and Identity & Access management including Authentication, Authorization, Governance field. His experience provides unique insight into the needs and challenges the financial services industry faces ensuring the customer experience remains excellent while securely enabling new ways to do business over digital channels.
Ms. Sunita Handa is presently the Chief General Manager (IT – Channels & Ops) at State Bank of India.
Starting her banking career as Probationary Officer with SBI, Ms. Handa has over 3 decades of rich experience in various spheres of banking like Operations, HR, Digital for Corporates & Retail etc. She was part of SBI’s Core Team that spearheaded digitalization of its foreign operations and later also worked as Senior Vice President (Technology & Ops) at Bank’s Frankfurt (Germany) Office.
Presently, she heads the team that is responsible for developing and implementing Bank’s various initiatives in Digital Banking, Mobility, e-Commerce, SWIFT, Payment Systems, Treasury as also Bank’s tech- operations overseas in 25 countries. Prior to the current assignment, Ms. Handa was heading Network II of Ahmedabad Circle in the capacity of General Manager.
Ms. Sunita Handa holds a Master’s degree in Science, specializing in Mathematics, a Certificate Course in Computer Applications (CCCA) and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Sanjay Khanna is the Chief Information Officer at RAK Bank where he is responsible for developing a vision for the Information Technology (IT) department, ensuring high quality of overall services to the Bank from the technology department, and establishing and maintaining an appropriate technological infrastructure with the Bank’s business partners. Prior to joining RAKBANK, Sanjay served as Deputy General Manager at ICICI Bank Ltd for six and a half years where during his tenure he headed various technology groups including International Banking Technology Group and the Shared Services Technology Group. He also spent seven years at the National Bank of Oman and six years with Deutsche Software (India) and his last designations, respectively, were Senior Managers of Systems and Senior Consultant.
Tim Tidwell is the Global head of Payment Hubs for Visa B2B Connect. In addition to leading global partnerships, Tim also helps drive settlement product strategy for this recently launched service. Visa B2B Connect is a non-card based solution that gives commercial banks new and innovative options for better managing their international wire payments.
Prior to joining Visa, Tim cultivated his international payments experience with almost 20 years in transaction banking. Tim has broad innovation, product and sales experience in global, national and regional wholesale banking. Most recently Tim spent time on MUFG’s Innovation Strategy team where he defined and executed their FinTech engagement program to introduce emerging technologies into the bank.
In Tim’s earlier tenure running product initiatives, he has been responsible for Global Payment Hub strategies, led numerous global payment initiatives and implemented innovative AI technologies to help repair broken wire transfers to elevate STP rates.
When Tim is not playing cryptocurrency exchange arbitrage he enjoys spending time with his wife, three young children and their two dogs.
Daniel W. Latimore, CFA, is Celent’s Chief Research Officer and leads the firm’s retail banking practice. He is based in the firm’s Boston office. As CRO he develops analyst research methodologies and coordinates topic selection across the firm. Mr. Latimore’s banking areas of focus include the banking ecosystem, digital banking and emerging technologies, and innovation. Underlying each is a keen interest in consumer behavior and technology-enabled strategy. Mr. Latimore has been widely quoted in the press, including the Wall Street Journal, American Banker, Boston Globe, CNBC, and CNBC Europe. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and client gatherings, having addressed audiences ranging from intimate meetings of CEOs and central banks to conference keynotes in more than a dozen countries. He led research groups at Deloitte and IBM, worked in industry Liberty Mutual and Merrill Lynch (where he lived in New York, Tokyo and London), and was a consultant at McKinsey & Co.
He received a Masters in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, and an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA institute.
Rudi Deruytter is Master in Law graduated from the Ghent University (1983) and post-graduated as Professional Negotiator (Vlerick, 1999) and International Banking Expert (ABI Bad Homburg- Germany, 2002).
Rudi is a Banker “at heart” specialised in Risk Management, Compliance and Credit Restructuring.

Mohit Joshi is a President of the company. He is Head of Banking, Financial Services & Insurance ( BFSI), Healthcare and Life Sciences at Infosys and is also responsible for firm-wide sales operations and reporting processes, including large deal pursuits and top account growth. Mohit has over 18 years of professional experience working across the US, India, Mexico, and Europe. His area of expertise lies in the intersection of financial services and technology. Mohit was also selected as a Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum, Davos earlier this year.

Mr. Septimus “Bob” Blake joined NCB in March 2002. As General Manager, Treasury & Correspondent Banking Division since 2004, he provides overall direction and management of the interest rate risk management, liquidity management, investment portfolio management, currency management, financial institutions relationship management functions and Foreign Exchange trading for the Bank. He is also responsible for the management of local financial institution and correspondent banking relationships.

In this global role, Chandra leads the team driving growth with top GSIs and influencers aligned closely with AWS field sales, business development, professional services, training and operations leaders globally and in India. Chandra and team’s charter is to build strategic and long term differentiation with our partners that drives growth of our mutual business globally while building and fostering executive relationships with GSIIs in India.
Prior to Amazon, Chandra spent five years at Microsoft building the partner enterprise architect team (PEAT) ground up which became the ‘tip of the spear’ for Microsoft’s efforts in driving cloud and analytics business with its enterprise partners.
Prior to Microsoft, Chandra spent several years in consulting organizations driving solution sales, partnerships and had successfully driven multi-million outsourcing deals to closure. Chandra holds a bachelor’s degree of engineering from NIT, Warangal and enjoys blogging about enterprise technology and cloud.
Nilanshuk Haldar leads Financial Services partnerships in APAC for Amazon Web Services. In this role, he helps independent software vendors ISVs, fintechs and technology consulting firms grow and scale their business with banks, insurers, asset managers and other financial institutions across the region. Prior to joining Amazon, Nilanshuk was a founding member and Chief Product Officer at Singapore-based fintech Mesitis. He was previously an investment banker based in Singapore, Hong Kong and Mumbai, and advised clients across Asia on corporate finance and capital markets.
Sunil is the Head of Engineering for Consumer Business(Marcus) of Goldman Sachs in Bengaluru, India. In his current role, he oversees development and execution of the firms’ Loan, Deposits and Credit card platforms while helping to expand the Consumer Technology in Bengaluru. Sunil is also an active member of Tech Fellow community at GS.
Sunil has over 20 years of experience in Analytics, Platform Engineering, Consumer Tech and Data Engineering across global firms like LinkedIn, Electronic Arts, Ola, Sybase & 3COM. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration from San Jose State University, California.
Ray has over 25 years’ experience in senior management roles within the technology space. Most recently Chief Commercial Officer and employee #5 at ComplyAdvantage who are a London based RegTech solution specialising in AI/ML tackling financial crime
Ray has also advised on regulations associated with anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorism finance (CTF), bribery and corruption to a variety of financial services organisations, and has used this knowledge to help the ComplyAdvantage customer base comply with their regulatory obligations.
