Automatic Upgrade of Patches

When the AssistEdge RPA SaaS environment is updated, the upgradation of the client components like Automation Studio, Robot and Robot Agent is scheduled to happen automatically. Automatically updating the components is based on a Vanguard job scheduled to apply the updates and perform the upgrade to the components.

The patches get applied to:

  • Automation Studio: Once the patch is available to be applied to the Automation Studio, a message box displays information about the available patch, on starting the Automation Studio. Automation Studio gets restarted during update.

To see the version of patch applied you can check for update in the Automation Studio. For more information about checking the version of Automation Studio, see Verifying the version of the Automation Studio.
  • Robot and Robot Agent: The patches get automatically applied to the Robots or the Robot agent when they are in idle state.

NOTE:

Idle state refers to Robot Agent in a running state on the machine with all the robots for that agent in a stopped state.

The patch update is scheduled for a predetermined number of tries. In case the upgradation does not occur, for Robot Agent and Robot, you can manually apply the patches from the Update Management screen in the Control Tower. For more information about manually applying the patches, see Applying Patches to Robot Agent or Robot.
