Kibana Dashboard Migration

Before you begin with Kibana Dashboard Migration, ensure that the TxnStore Migration is completed.

Pre – Migration Steps

• Ensure reporting migration is completed.
• Ensure that backup of 18.x Kibana index, reports, dashboards are already taken. You need to export all the saved objects to take the backup.

To export the objects, login to Admin Module > Reporting > Management. Click Export objects.

Migration Steps

Follow the below steps to migrate the Kibana reports.

1. Login to Admin Module > Reporting.
2. In the left navigation panel, click Management, and then click Saved Objects.
3. Delete all Saved Objects. (This should include index pattern, Dashboard, Report and saved Search).
4. After deleting the objects, you need to reconfigure the reports. See Configuring Kibana Reports in Installation Guide.
   If any customization was implemented earlier, perform customization steps again. For this, refer to the 17.x backup json files that were created in Pre-Migration Step.

Post – Migration Steps

To verify if the Kibana Migration is successful, navigate to each report and validate that each report is working properly.
