Release Notes - Engage 2.1

This is a minor release and this section provides the details about the new and enhanced features and functionalities included in AssistEdge Engage 2.1 release.

 

NOTE:  

Patches upto 17.6 Patch #79, 18.2 Patch #63, #66, #67, #68, 18.1 Patch #56, 18.0 SP1 Patch #92 and 19.0 SP2 are already merged in RPA 19.1/Engage 2.1. Hence no need to install the patches again.

New Features

This release includes the following new features:

Authorization to Office 365 Applications via Graph API

When Multi-Factor Authentication is enabled/enforced by default for Office 365 and other Microsoft applications i.e. Basic Authentication is permanently disabled, authentication of such applications while executing an automation process in AssistEdge, is challenging. To solve this AssistEdge provides authentication of Office 365 applications via graph API.

Excel 365 Adapter

AssistEdge offers support for Office 365 Excel related operations. Automations such as Add Workbook, add table etc. are provided, after the authentication is established with all the office applications.

One Drive 365 Adapter

AssistEdge offers support for Office 365 One Drive related operations. Automations such as move file/folder, copy file/folder, download file etc. are provided, after the authentication is established with all the office applications.

Outlook 365 Adapter

AssistEdge offers support for Office 365 Outlook related operations. Automations such as search mail, reply to e-mail etc. are provided, after the authentication is established with all the office applications.

SharePoint 365 Adapter 

AssistEdge offers support for Office 365 SharePoint related operations. Automations such as create file/folder, download files, get information of file/folder etc. are provided, after the authentication is established with all the office applications.

BeyondTrust Integration for SignIn Manager  

The SignIn Manager in AssistEdge Engage has been enhanced to support BeyondTrust to retrieve application credentials for both Thick Client and Web Engage. Assist Edge supports BeyondTrust, and offers two ways for managing the application credentials:r

  • Managed Accounts
  • Team Passwords 

New User Journey for Web Engage Users

New Business app feature has been introduced for Web Engage users, to enable Web Engage use cases which do not require attended automation capabilities. This new Business App based Web Engage user journey removes the requirement of mandatory download automation utility to access Web Engage app. To enable this access administrator must provide the “Business Apps” to the user groups and update the Web Engage App URL under “BusinessAppsUrl” in the System Settings to enable the access.

Internet Explorer to MS Edge Conversion Utility

Customers have to switch their already established processes, including web interactions recorded on the IE browser, to MS Edge, MS Edge with IE compatibility, or Chrome in order to continue automating them after Microsoft support for Internet Explorer ends.
Assist Edge IE to Edge/Edge with IE compatibility/Chrome process converter software allows users to do this conversion in a few simple steps with little manual work, instead of manually reconfiguring the automation steps in the Microsoft Edge/Chrome browser.

Studio UI Configurations

The Studio UI configuration feature helps the user update the Automation Studio basic configurations from the UI, instead of going to configuration file. Configurations search and elaborative description helps the user to simplify the configuration update process.

Integration with other AI Partners H2O

Product has been enabled to support H20.ai open source platform. Users can use/leverage the ML models created in H20.ai in AE processes for prediction automations.

NOTE: 

AssistEdge RPA Studio supports only open source platform version of H2O.ai,  the enterprise licensed version of H2O is not supported.

Application level clean up

The application has enhanced to support app kill activity, using this activity users can kill necessary processes on the bot/agent machine. This will improve server performance and efficiency by preventing excessive CPU and memory usage. For optimal use, users can filter out the processes using various criteria.

Enhancements

This release includes the following enhancements:

Web Automation for MS Edge Internet Explorer compatibility

The product has been enhanced to support Internet Explorer compatibility mode in Microsoft edge browser for automation. This helps users to automate legacy applications which require Internet Explorer mode in Edge browser.

Client Tools  

Automation Studio is enhanced to use Client Tools provided in the admin module to download Automation Studio, Engage, EPA, and Robot on New Machine or Open Automation Studio, Engage, and EPA in Existing Machine.

Server License

The Server License tab displays the list of uploaded server license(s) that were placed in the License folder during the installation of AssistEdge RPA/Engage product.
Users can view and track the expiry dates of server license of the product. Additionally, users will be notified about the expiry of the licenses.

FOSS and Third-Party Components

AssistEdge RPA uses certain Free Open Source Software which is the property of their respective owners and is licensed with their licenses. For usage of any third party software, users need to procure the licenses for the software applications if they want to use, automate, and abide by their terms of use. Refer to the AE-RPA-FOSS Bundled Components.pdf document bundled with the product package.

Performance and Security Recommendations

Performance and Endurance Recommendations

Refer Hardware Recommendation while provisioning the infrastructure for deployments. This document has recommendations for different supported scenarios for Automation deployment.

Security Recommendations

Ensure that the AssistEdge Automation Secure Deployment Guideline document is adhered to while deploying the product. This ensures that the most relevant best practices for setting up the product are taken care of during installation and setup.

 

Known Issues and Limitations

Feature usage and limitations/ boundary conditions are available as part of Product Usage/Installation/other product documents. Below is the list of known open issues and limitations at the time of the Engage 2.0 release.

  • When applications are launched using multi-browser capability (Firefox & Chrome) then EPA launch time may increase. Adjust the sign-in timeout value accordingly to prevent timeout on application sign-in.
  • It is possible to create and deploy Multiple Sign in and Reset processes of the same application if one is done first in Studio and then through Process Recorder. It is recommended to use either of the options for Sign in and Reset automation and then edit the same in Studio as required.
  • Session expiry is only available at the individual module level while Single logout is working fine across Admin, Control-Tower, Kibana modules.
